Key Responsibilities

• Process customer payments received via cash, debit/credit card, or mobile money platforms.
• Generate and issue VAT receipts using the Electronic Tax Register (ETR) machine for all qualifying transactions.
• Handle refunds, issue credits, and provide correct change to customers with accuracy.
• Count and verify cash drawer balances at the start of each shift to confirm correct amounts and sufficient float.
• Greet customers upon arrival and provide a welcoming checkout experience.
• Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Address customer complaints and inquiries promptly, explaining company procedures and policies as needed.
• Reconcile daily transaction totals with recorded sales figures and maintain periodic balance sheets.
• Monitor cashier stations to ensure adequate cash availability throughout operating hours.
• Cash personal checks for customers where applicable.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a cashiering role (preferred but not essential).
• Strong numerical ability and demonstrated cash-handling competency.
• High level of personal honesty, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Reliable ability to handle cash accurately and maintain proper transaction records.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with clear interpersonal ability.
• Customer service-focused mindset and commitment to positive customer interactions.
• Basic computer literacy, including hands-on familiarity with POS systems and ETR machines.
