About the Role

MSVL Group is recruiting a full-time Accountant to join its finance team in Kenya. This role focuses on managing accounts receivable and payable functions, supporting financial reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The position offers hands-on experience in a distribution-focused business environment where accuracy and timeliness are critical to operations.

The Accountant at MSVL Group will work with established accounting systems and be responsible for month-end and year-end closing cycles, bank reconciliations, and the preparation of financial reports. This is a full-time permanent role based in Kenya, ideal for an experienced accounting professional seeking a structured finance function with clear responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, manage collections from customers, and handle supplier payments with attention to accuracy and timeline compliance.
• Prepare and maintain aging reports, reconciliation schedules, and detailed financial records to support decision-making.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank statements within required timeframes.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations and inventory reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports and management reports required by internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Maintain proper documentation workflows and ensure all transactions comply with company policies and tax legislation.
• Monitor payment schedules and cash flow patterns to support effective working capital management.
• Assist with audit procedures and preparation of tax documentation as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• CPA(K) qualification — this is mandatory for the role.
• Minimum 5–6 years of hands-on accounting experience in a professional setting.
• Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Background in FMCG, distribution, or HORECA industries is preferred; familiarity with the Mombasa market is an advantage.
