Accountant I at National Crime Research Centre – National Crime Research Centre Kenya Job Details
The officer at this position will report to the Principal Accountant. The appointment shall be Permanent and Pensionable.
Job Specifications
- This is the entry and training grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer in this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail assisting in:
- Preparing cheques and posting payments and receipts;
- Contacting clients about invoices and handling queries relating to accounts;
- Verifying payments and receipt vouchers and committal documents;
- Movement and safe custody of cash;
- Data capture, filing and maintaining ledgers;
- Maintaining financial records;
- Preparing budget estimates, accounts and management reports; and
- Supporting audits and reconciliation.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting option), or Certified Public Accountant Part III or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The Successful candidates will be required to submit the following documents;
- Certificate of clearance from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Certificate of Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Duly filled and stamped self declaration/ clearance form from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC)
The self declaration form, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should indicate the Principal Research Officer as the position for which declaration is being submitted.
Only shortlisted candidates shall be contacted and invited for interview
