Emerge Egress Consulting is recruiting a full-time Electrician for one of its hospitality sector clients in Nairobi. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring someone with solid technical expertise and the ability to manage electrical systems across a hotel property. You’ll be responsible for keeping electrical infrastructure, equipment, and safety systems operational at all times.

The role sits within the Engineering field and offers the chance to work in a commercial environment where reliability and prompt problem-solving directly impact daily operations. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic work on electrical systems, wiring installations, lighting fixtures, backup generators, and uninterruptible power supplies.
• Service and maintain equipment including kitchen appliances, laundry facilities, heating and cooling systems, and water heating installations.
• Walk through guest rooms, meeting areas, and common spaces to locate and fix electrical defects and hazards.
• Attend to electrical faults and equipment failures quickly, minimising downtime.
• Verify all work meets electrical safety codes and regulatory requirements.
• Track electrical materials and supplies, and maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed.
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks and carry out any additional work assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of experience working as an electrician, ideally in a hotel or commercial setting.
• Sound understanding of electrical systems, wiring practices, fault diagnosis, and safety protocols.
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to troubleshoot problems independently.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work unsupervised and remain organised under pressure.
• Reliable approach to work with a customer-focused mindset.
• Flexibility to handle urgent situations and adapt to changing priorities.
