DIB Bank Kenya Limited (DIBBKE) is recruiting a Solutions Architect for its Nairobi headquarters on a full-time basis. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technical delivery, requiring someone who can design enterprise-grade technology solutions, establish architectural governance, and guide teams through complex integration challenges. The Solutions Architect role is fundamental to translating business requirements into well-structured, scalable technology architectures that support the bank’s growth across core banking, digital channels, and payment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain architecture standards, guidelines, and reference models to establish consistency across all IT initiatives and ensure quality control of solution designs.
• Review solution designs submitted by project teams, validating alignment with business requirements, architectural principles, and the bank’s technology direction.
• Produce technical documentation including system design documents, integration diagrams, data flow models, and specifications to support new and existing applications.
• Define integration standards, API guidelines, and data exchange patterns to ensure seamless communication across core banking systems, digital platforms, and third-party applications.
• Assess emerging technologies and tools, providing recommendations that support the bank’s business objectives and modernization priorities.
• Participate in procurement evaluations, RFP assessments, and vendor solution reviews to ensure architectural fit and long-term value.
• Establish and manage a centralized architecture repository containing diagrams, standards, patterns, and system inventories to support governance and regulatory reviews.
• Identify opportunities for architectural improvement, technology redesign, and modernization initiatives such as cloud adoption, microservices, or platform upgrades.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Professional certifications in enterprise architecture such as TOGAF, SAFe, AWS/Azure Architect certifications, ITIL, or equivalent.
• 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture, systems design, application development, or infrastructure engineering within banking or large enterprise settings.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise systems, APIs, middleware, and integration architectures.
• Proven background working with core banking platforms, digital channels, payment systems, and financial services technologies.
• Strong capability in conducting technical reviews, performing architectural assessments, and evaluating project risks.
• Proficiency in evaluating solution options, analyzing impact, and validating architectural compliance against defined standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to document complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
