About the Role

AGL- Africa Global Logistics is recruiting a Transport Coordinator M/F to join its operations team in Mombasa. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the daily movement of cargo across transport networks, managing truck allocations, ensuring customs compliance, and maintaining effective communication between internal teams and service providers. Working within one of Africa’s largest multimodal logistics operators—part of the MSC family with operations across 50 countries—you will play a direct role in connecting African trade routes and international supply chains.

The Transport Coordinator M/F at AGL- Africa Global Logistics will manage a range of operational tasks from transport planning and documentation to transporter performance monitoring and reporting. Your coordination work ensures that shipments meet regulatory requirements, depart on schedule, and reach their destinations without delays. This role requires attention to detail, organisational discipline, and the ability to troubleshoot logistics challenges in a fast-moving port environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Organise daily truck allocations and loading schedules in accordance with operational priorities and cargo readiness.
• Monitor departures, route progress and final delivery confirmation to guarantee on-time execution and customer satisfaction.
• Engage with transport providers to verify truck availability, confirm loading windows, and align on operational specifications.
• Prepare and verify T812, Exit and T1 transit documentation with accuracy and within KRA and customs timelines.
• Maintain and update records of approved transporters, oversee their onboarding, and assess their performance against compliance and responsiveness standards.
• Deliver shipment status updates to customers and internal stakeholders, responding to transport inquiries and coordinating swift resolution.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports on loading activity, truck movements, transporter performance and transit outcomes.
• Flag operational issues such as delays or truck shortages to the Transport Manager and support implementation of process improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management or equivalent field.
• 2 to 3 years of proven experience in transport coordination, clearing and forwarding, or broader logistics operations.
• Practical knowledge of KRA procedures, KPA operations, URA transit regulations and ASYCUDA systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting, and competence with Microsoft Outlook for communication.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and transport schedules simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with transporters, customs officials and customers.
