About the Role
Arvocap Asset Managers is seeking a full-time Accountant to join its finance team in Nairobi. This position involves overseeing the complete accounting cycle, from transaction processing through financial statement preparation and regulatory compliance. As an Accountant at Arvocap Asset Managers, you will work within a structured finance function that demands precision, timeliness, and a thorough understanding of accounting standards. You will report directly to senior finance leadership and collaborate with other departments to ensure cash flow stability and audit readiness. Key Responsibilities
- Record, reconcile, and manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing cycles, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheets, income statements, and supporting financial reports for management review.
- Oversee cash flow planning and reconcile petty cash and bank accounts on a regular basis.
- Process vendor payments and member invoicing, receipting, and reconciliation activities.
- Compute tax obligations, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with eTIMS and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor expenditure against approved budgets, document all transactions, and support audit readiness by maintaining clear records.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data, perform system backups, and adhere to all internal financial policies and regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialisation in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent professional diploma.
- CPA Part II qualification (mandatory).
- Minimum three years of practical experience working in a finance office or accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software platforms, particularly Zoho Books or Odoo.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modelling.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting regulations, and Kenyan tax laws.
- Prior experience in wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services is advantageous.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with excellent communication skills.
