About the Role
Puratos is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage and streamline procurement operations at its Nairobi facility. This is a full-time position that bridges global procurement standards with local market knowledge, ensuring the business sources materials efficiently while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality requirements. The successful candidate will report to the procurement leadership team and work across internal departments and external supplier networks.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage import and export procedures, including clearance documentation, customs compliance, and regulatory adherence
- Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and government bodies to facilitate smooth cross-border movement of goods
- Build and maintain an accurate supplier database aligned with vendor management standards and performance metrics
- Support supplier evaluations, conduct compliance audits, and drive continuous improvement in supplier relationships
- Track inventory levels and coordinate with planning teams to prevent stockouts and optimise stock holding
- Generate procurement reports with actionable insights to support management decision-making
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain operations
- Demonstrated experience managing import/export operations and local supplier development
- Working knowledge of international trade regulations and Kenya Revenue Authority customs procedures
- Professional certification such as CIPS or CPSP-K, or membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM), is advantageous
- Fluent written and verbal English communication
- Familiarity with food safety, quality standards, and sustainability compliance frameworks
