About the Role
Bobu Africa is recruiting a Travel Operations professional to join its team in Kenya on a full-time, onsite basis. This role sits at the operational heart of the company’s safari and tour business, managing the coordination and delivery of client experiences across East Africa. As part of the Administration function, the Travel Operations at Bobu Africa position requires someone with hands-on experience in tour logistics, visa processing, and ground operations who can manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.
The successful candidate will oversee safari bookings from inquiry to completion, coordinate transport logistics, and ensure clients receive consistent support before, during, and after their travels. You will work across Sales, Reservations, Finance, and Production teams to keep operations running smoothly. This is a role for someone detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-moving travel environment where problem-solving and clear communication are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and coordinate end-to-end safari bookings using Booking Service Itineraries (BSIs) to ensure all client requirements are captured and actioned.
- Manage transport logistics, including vehicle allocation and driver scheduling, to guarantee smooth ground operations throughout client journeys.
- Provide comprehensive client support across the travel lifecycle: pre-travel briefings, airport collection, in-safari check-ins, and post-travel feedback gathering.
- Process visa and travel documentation applications, including ETA submissions and AMREF clearances, with timely tracking and accurate client communication.
- Coordinate between Sales, Reservations, Finance, and Production teams to resolve operational issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, vehicle schedules, and client communications using MS Office and company data systems.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 1 and 3 years of prior experience working in tour operations within a travel or tourism company.
- Demonstrated expertise in East Africa safari operations, travel coordination practices, and reservation systems.
- Working knowledge of ETA applications, visa processes, and AMREF medical clearance requirements for international travel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to manage data accurately across multiple platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief clients and liaise with team members and suppliers.
- Proven problem-solving capability and a methodical, detail-focused approach to operational tasks.
- Willingness to learn new processes and take on additional operational support as the business grows.
