Transcriber Scope of Work:

The LISA program, managed by SoCha LLC, is in search of a Transcriber (Consultant) to offer technical expertise and assistance in the verbatim transcription of recorded engagements with stakeholders. These engagements include meetings, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-depth Interviews (IDIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) for an assessment of the HPN/USAID KEA Maternal and Newborn Health Program. The assessment will be conducted in nine (9) counties, namely Vihiga, Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Nakuru, Kwale, Turkana, and Nairobi counties. The consultant will be engaged by SoCha and will directly report to the designated Technical Lead (Consultant).

Transcriber Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Transcription: Provide verbatim transcription of recorded engagements with stakeholders, including meetings, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-depth Interviews (IDIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
  2. Organization and Documentation: Document and organize the transcripts by county, sub-county, and facilities, and categorize them based on the nature of engagements. They will collaborate closely with the Qualitative Data Analyst/Researcher during the transcription and organization of the resulting transcripts.
  3. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, maintain data accuracy, and prioritize confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare, or a related social science field from a recognized university.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience in providing verbatim transcriptions of recorded engagements with stakeholders, including but not limited to meetings, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-depth Interviews (IDIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
  • An understanding of Maternal Neonatal Health (MNH) Standards and guidelines is an added advantage.
