Job Title

Storekeeper – Hotel (Maasai Mara)

Job Purpose

The Storekeeper will be responsible for managing hotel inventory to ensure accurate stock control, timely availability of supplies, and compliance with hospitality and public health standards within a lodge environment in Maasai Mara.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify all supplier deliveries against approved purchase documents to confirm quantity and quality

  • Inspect perishable and non-perishable goods to ensure freshness, quality, and valid expiry dates

  • Arrange and store items using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to reduce wastage and spoilage

  • Issue stock to hotel departments based on approved requisition requests

  • Maintain accurate stock records using bin cards or digital inventory systems

  • Track stock movements and reconcile physical stock with records regularly

  • Prepare weekly and monthly inventory reports on consumption, variances, and reorder requirements

  • Monitor minimum stock levels and initiate purchase requisitions in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with suppliers and local vendors on deliveries, replacements, and returns

  • Ensure all storage areas including dry stores, cold rooms, and freezers meet hygiene and safety standards

  • Safeguard store items against loss, damage, or unauthorized access

  • Carry out any other reasonable storekeeping duties assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline

  • At least two years of storekeeping experience in a hotel or lodge environment, preferably 4-star or 5-star

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience using hospitality inventory or POS systems such as Micros, Materials Control, or SunSystems

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

  • High level of integrity and accountability

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality setting

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

  • Flexibility and adaptability to remote lodge operations
