About the Role

Wilderness is recruiting a Spa Therapist to join its team in Nairobi on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on therapeutic position where you’ll deliver massage treatments that improve circulation, reduce tension, and support client wellbeing. The Spa Therapist at Wilderness will work in a professional wellness environment, combining technical skill with genuine client care.

As a Spa Therapist at Wilderness, you’ll contribute to that mission by maintaining high standards of hygiene, professionalism, and therapeutic practice. This role suits candidates with formal training in massage therapy and at least two years of hands-on experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic massage treatments using Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, trigger point, sports, prenatal, and reflexology techniques according to client needs.
• Maintain the spa facility to strict cleanliness and safety standards, including daily setup and breakdown of treatment rooms.
• Prepare and sterilize all equipment and tools between client sessions to ensure hygiene compliance.
• Manage spa linens—washing, replacing, and organizing fresh linens between treatments.
• Consult with clients before each session to understand their health history, treatment preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Guide clients to and from treatment rooms and ensure their comfort throughout the session.
• Maintain accurate client records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and professional standards applicable to spa and wellness practice.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in massage therapy or related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum two years of demonstrated work experience as a massage therapist or spa therapist.
• Competency across multiple massage modalities: Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, trigger point, sports massage, prenatal, and reflexology.
• Proficient computer skills for client management and record-keeping.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work comfortably with diverse clientele.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform detailed manual work with precision.
• Professional appearance, strong integrity, and commitment to client confidentiality and safety standards.
• Demonstrated interest in wellness, sustainability, and conservation practices is valued.
