Job Title

Cashier

Job Purpose

The Cashier will support MSF finance operations by processing cash transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with MSF financial policies and local regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process and control cash payments in line with approved documentation and internal procedures

• Record all cash transactions accurately in the cashbook or accounting system

• Conduct daily cash counts and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies

• Manage cash advances and ensure timely and accurate settlement

• Facilitate transfers between the cashbox and safe in accordance with authorization procedures

• Verify invoices for validity, approvals, and correct account coding

• Perform currency exchange transactions when required

• Support preparation and disbursement of salary payments as assigned

• Prepare monthly cash and bank reconciliations prior to period closing, where applicable

• Coordinate cash-related matters with field teams, including support for supplier and daily worker payments

• Maintain proper filing and archiving of finance documents and support other finance tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

• CPA qualification is an added advantage

Experience

• Minimum of one year of relevant accounting or cashiering experience

• Proficiency in English and Swahili
