Qualification
Education, Skills and Experience
Must have:
- Bachelors’ degree in relevant area of specialization from a recognized Academic Institution.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in an equivalent position in MKU or in a recognized institution.
Key responsibilities also include
Reporting to: Centre Coordinator
Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate and customize Centre teaching timetables in consultation with relevant academic units and the Directorate of Teaching Programmes (DTP) at the Main Campus to ensure effective and seamless delivery of teaching programmes.
- Prepare, implement, and maintain lecturers’ clock-in/clock-out schedules and physical class monitoring schedules in line with approved teaching timetables.
- Monitor implementation of teaching timetables and conduct physical class checks to track lecturers’ attendance, punctuality, and compliance with approved schedules, and report any deviations, absenteeism, or related challenges.
- Collect, compile, and maintain daily attendance data for lecturers and students for both physical classes (using biometric systems) and online classes (from digital learning platforms).
- Identify, document, and report issues affecting teaching and learning during monitoring activities, and escalate matters to relevant offices including DTP where necessary.
- Enter, update, verify, and maintain accurate teaching attendance records for lecturers and students, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
- Prepare periodic attendance, monitoring, and compliance reports for submission to DTP and other relevant offices.
- Administer, process, and track lecturers’ claim forms and supporting documentation in accordance with University policies and procedures.
- Serve as the Centre focal person for teaching programme monitoring, providing coordination support to lecturers and students on attendance, timetabling, and related teaching activities.
- Maintain monitoring records, attendance databases, and other relevant Centre documentation to support accountability and reporting.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
