What you will do:

Design and produce communications materials for WRI programs (80%)

• Lay out knowledge products (reports, issue briefs, working papers…)
• Lay out communications products (brochures, two-pagers, posters…)
• Build and package graphics for WRI’s institutional blog and social media platforms
• Build and design presentations in PowerPoint

Support institutional projects (20%)

• Support the WRI Africa communications, development and human resources teams with their design needs
• Support the Core Communications team for Institute-wide communications efforts
• Attend weekly and month team meetings and contribute to the group life of the team

What you will need:

• A degree in visual communications or graphic design is desirable. However, other degrees with communication or visual arts are also useful. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree is accepted.
• You have a 1-3 years’ full-time relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Experience with Canva, Asana and Figma would be a bonus
• Ability to share creative and new ideas while being open to feedback on these suggestions
• Ability to work through multiple iterations of each project
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals
• Flexibility and the ability to work under quick deadlines
