About the Role
Human Capital Outsourcing Limited is recruiting an HR Intern to join the Human Resources team of a major poultry production company. This internship provides hands-on experience across core HR functions including recruitment, employee administration, and compliance with Kenyan labour practices. Based in Kenya, you will work within a structured HR department that manages staffing, payroll, and employee relations for an established agricultural business.
The HR Intern at Human Capital Outsourcing Limited will report to the HR Manager and collaborate with team members across recruitment, payroll, and employee services. This is a practical learning role suited to recent graduates or final-year students pursuing qualifications in Human Resource Management or related fields. You will gain direct exposure to recruitment workflows, database management, statutory compliance, and day-to-day HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in candidate sourcing, screening, and interview scheduling for vacant positions
- Support the onboarding and induction of newly hired employees
- Update and maintain employee records in HR databases and filing systems
- Assist with attendance monitoring and leave request processing
- Prepare HR correspondence, documentation, and routine administrative reports
- Collect and verify payroll data before submission to finance
- Coordinate training events and staff development programmes
- Handle general employee queries and provide administrative assistance to the HR department
- Support workplace engagement activities and employee welfare programmes
- Complete additional HR-related tasks as directed by management
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field
- Recent graduate or currently in the final year of study
- Working knowledge of Kenyan employment law and HR compliance standards (advantageous)
- Competent user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities
- Demonstrated reliability, discretion when handling confidential information, and professional conduct
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
