THE JOB

• We are seeking a motivated Farm Assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of our farm. This role requires a proactive and hardworking individual to work in our farm in Nyeri.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Prepare fodder for the dairy cows, feed the cows and ensure sufficient clean drinking water.
• Examine animals to detect disease and injury and report in case of any sick animal for treatment and Work closely with the veterinarian during examination.
• Assist with vaccination of livestock by herding into corral or manually restraining animal on the range.
• Spray the animals acaracides weekly (this must be done strictly on agreed spaying day).
• Deworm calves and goat/sheep kids monthly and Deworm cows quarterly.
• Requisition for supplies before they are out of stock.
• Ensure security of the farm by locking and opening gates at scheduled times
• Feed saltlick to cattle once on very clean troughs.
• Report all problems immediately they occur; such as not enough fodder or farm supplies on good time.
• Give a daily report of the number of the animals.
• Keep the cow shed clean and dry at all times.
• Milk the cows
• Tilling and weeding the land

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications.

• Certificate in animal health
• At least 1 year experience working within the same role

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING THE RIGHT PERSON

• We are offering the successful candidate a monthly gross salary of KES 18,000.
