Dentist Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dentist to join our team. As a Dentist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to patients while ensuring their oral health and well-being. Your expertise and professionalism will be essential in delivering quality dental services.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS): You must possess a BDS degree from a recognized institution, indicating your competence in dental practice.
2. Registered and Licensed: You should be registered as a dentist and hold a valid license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC). Compliance with all regulatory requirements is crucial.
3. Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS): Possessing a BLS certificate is essential to handle emergency situations effectively and ensure patient safety.
4. Post-Internship Experience: We require at least one (1) year of post-internship experience as a practicing dentist. Your prior experience will be valuable in delivering high-quality dental services.
5. Proficient in Computer Applications: Basic computer skills are necessary to maintain accurate patient records and efficiently manage dental practice operations.
6. Good Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential to establish rapport with patients, explaining treatments, and addressing their concerns effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct dental examinations and assess patients’ oral health conditions.
2. Diagnose dental diseases and conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
3. Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and cleanings.
4. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventative dental care.
5. Interpret X-rays and other diagnostic tests to identify dental issues.
6. Administer anesthetics to ensure pain-free dental treatments.
7. Collaborate with dental specialists for complex cases and referrals.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using computer systems.
9. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and dental practice regulations.
10. Continuously improve dental knowledge and stay updated with the latest advancements in dentistry.
