About the Role
Mogo is recruiting a Debt Collection Call Center Agent to join its collections team in Kenya. This is a full-time position based at the CPA Centre Ruaraka location. As part of Eleving Group, an international fintech company operating across three continents, Mogo provides vehicle financing solutions including car loans, motorcycle financing, and logbook advances. Since 2019, the company has financed over 100,000 vehicles and served more than 50,000 customers across Kenya.
In this role, you will manage customer accounts, negotiate repayment schedules, and drive debt recovery while maintaining professional relationships. The Debt Collection Call Center Agent at Mogo will work in a structured environment that values both performance and compliance with Kenyan financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reach out to customers to negotiate and agree on mutually acceptable repayment schedules and terms.
- Organize and file all debt collection correspondence, documentation, and related paperwork systematically.
- Verify that customers meet their contractual obligations and adhere to applicable regulatory standards.
- Keep detailed, current records of customer accounts, including communication logs and payment status updates.
- Develop and sustain positive working relationships with customers to support successful debt recovery and reduce future payment defaults.
- Handle customer questions, complaints, and concerns with professionalism and promptness.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance debt collection efficiency and effectiveness.
- Meet or surpass debt recovery targets and other assigned performance metrics.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration or a closely related field.
- Prior call center experience is advantageous.
- Genuine commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities in both one-on-one and multi-party settings.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Attentive listening skills to understand customer concerns and needs.
- Proficiency with computer systems and standard office applications.
- Demonstrable negotiation abilities to reach agreements with debtors.
- Capacity to adjust to changing circumstances and function effectively with minimal supervision.
- Fluent in both English and Swahili (spoken and written).
- Self-assurance when engaging with customers and senior staff.
