About the Role
TakaTaka Solutions is recruiting a Data Intern to join its operations team in Kenya on a full-time basis. This internship in Kenya focuses on maintaining data integrity across material recovery facility (MRF) systems, quality assurance processes, and production tracking. You will work directly with operational teams to ensure that all recorded information meets accuracy standards and supports management decision-making.
The Data Intern at TakaTaka Solutions will operate within a structured shift environment where precision and attention to detail directly impact facility performance. You will handle database entries, monitor product sorting quality, manage daily performance metrics, and follow up on data discrepancies to strengthen overall system reliability. This is hands-on work that bridges data management with operational quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Input data into designated databases and information systems with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness for each assigned shift
- Monitor quality deviations in sorted products and report findings immediately to team leadership
- Complete daily scale checklists and escalate maintenance requirements to the team lead within agreed timeframes
- Populate the daily performance board to track and visualize MRF operational metrics
- Prepare weekly variance reports comparing recyclables sorted against recyclables baled
- Extract specific data records from database systems upon request and validate information for accuracy
- Investigate data inconsistencies when identified and implement corrective steps to improve recording accuracy
- Assist team leads with quality control observations at conveyor points and production lines
- Support the management team with general data handling requests and ad hoc reporting needs
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Actuarial Science, Information and Data Management Systems, or Accounting
- Between 1–2 years of demonstrated experience in data management and information systems
- Hands-on experience with data management software and tools, including Google Sheets and ERP systems
- Ability to identify data entry errors and implement validation procedures independently
- Comfort working in a shift-based operational environment with quality control responsibilities
- Strong communication skills to report issues and coordinate with team leads and maintenance staff
