Data Analyst- Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Demand Planning at M-KOPA Solar

Job Purpose

In the role of Sourcing Analyst, your primary objective is to support global product sourcing efforts and align sourcing processes across various markets. You will report to the Senior Sourcing Manager and collaborate closely with Market Development to manage supplier relationships (OEM/Distributor/Dealer) and facilitate the transition of new products.

Your Key Responsibilities

Product/Accessories Sourcing

  • Lead the sourcing of phone accessories across different markets, ensuring that all accessories meet approval criteria before procurement. Minimize dead stock issues associated with End-of-Life (EOL) devices.
  • Gather price quotes from various suppliers, including wholesalers and retail outlets, to maintain a pricing tracker that aids in supplier negotiations.
  • Assist in onboarding new distributors/suppliers in collaboration with the Procurement and Legal departments. Ensure timely renegotiation and renewal of expiring supplier contracts.

Product Management

  • Collaborate with Market Development to manage the transition of new phone models.
  • Ensure timely receipt of test samples and upload test plans.

Certifications

  • Follow up with OEMs to ensure that Type approval certificates are obtained before the commencement of sales in each country.
  • Maintain an updated Type Approval (TA) tracker for all markets.

Material Supply Planning

  • Coordinate with the Planning Team to ensure the release of purchase orders (POs) to suppliers as per agreed terms, minimizing product delivery delays.
  • Ensure that supplier deliveries align with the communicated delivery plan and update sourcing trackers accordingly.

Supplier Relationship

  • Monitor OEM activation targets and work with warehouse teams to meet these targets.
  • Track rebates and follow up with OEMs/MNOs to ensure timely receipt of credit notes.

Other Stakeholder Support

  • Provide necessary support to Market Development and the Security Team during product testing.
  • Offer supplier support for ongoing and new products.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Demand Planning/Forecasting roles.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, staff, and partners, as well as for report writing and submission.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to perform complex functions.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to maintain positive professional relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Understanding of the sourcing and evaluation process.
  • Familiarity with logistics and product capacity management.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
