About the Role
Zamara Kenya is recruiting a Content & Production Officer (Multimedia & PR) to join its marketing and communications team in Nairobi. This is a full-time position with a financial services firm that has operated in Kenya for over 23 years, offering actuarial services, pensions administration, consulting, and insurance brokerage across Africa. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end production of video and multimedia content while coordinating public relations, media engagement, and internal communications across multiple channels.
The role sits at the intersection of content creation and strategic communications. You will support the delivery of campaigns, thought leadership initiatives, and media coverage that strengthen Zamara Kenya’s visibility and positioning. This is a hands-on position requiring coordination across internal teams, external creative partners, and media contacts, with accountability for timely delivery and consistent brand execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee video and multimedia production workflows from initial brief through final delivery, including coordination of shoots, editing, and post-production processes to ensure alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
- Support the development and execution of public relations plans for key campaigns and business initiatives, including securing and managing media coverage, interviews, and feature placements.
- Write and develop thought leadership content including op-eds, blogs, and articles for both the organisation and senior spokespeople.
- Draft press releases, press packs, media briefs, and internal communications materials to support PR and employee engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate content distribution across owned channels (website, social media, internal platforms) and manage paid amplification where required.
- Track media coverage, maintain up-to-date media contact lists, and support internal engagement activities such as townhalls and employee storytelling campaigns.
- Monitor and manage the content and campaign pipeline across multiple projects, maintaining clear status tracking and ensuring alignment to the marketing calendar.
- Coordinate with external creative partners, production vendors, and media partners, managing briefings, feedback, approvals, and quality assurance to ensure outputs meet scope and standards.
- Organize and maintain content libraries and asset repositories (both digital and physical backups), and provide basic reporting on content delivery, PR coverage, and project timelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in content production, PR, or marketing roles within an agency or in-house environment.
- Demonstrated experience in media relations, content writing, and developing thought leadership materials.
- Strong coordination and project execution capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of PR, media relations, content creation, and distribution channels (owned, earned, and paid).
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with ability to adapt tone for both editorial and corporate contexts.
- Proven stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.
- Exposure to video production and multimedia workflows is an added advantage.
