Basic job summary:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and publishing engaging content across all relevant platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice and posting schedule.
  • He/she will manage day-to-day community interactions, including responding to
  • comments and messages, and actively engaging with followers to build a strong online presence.
  • This role also supports campaign execution in collaboration with marketing and design teams, ensuring content aligns with broader company objectives and branding.
  • The position holder will also monitor performance metrics such as engagement, reach, and follower growth, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • They are expected to stay current with platform trends, tools, and best practices, continuously suggesting innovative content ideas to keep the brand relevant and engaging.
  • The role plays a key part in ensuring a positive and consistent brand image online.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, digital media or a related field is typically required.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience managing social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok) in a professional setting, either in-house or at an agency
  • Proven ability to create and schedule engaging content, including writing captions, basic graphic design (e.g. using Canva or Adobe tools), and short-form video editing (e.g. Reels, TikTok)
  • Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Sprout Social, or similar)
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting, with the ability to track performance metrics and interpret insights to optimize strategy
  • Understanding of brand voice, tone, and visual consistency, and experience applying these across various social platforms
  • Knowledge of current social media trends, platform algorithms, and audience behavior
  • Experience with paid social advertising, influencer collaborations, or content planning for campaigns
  • Must possess strong content writing skills and the ability to live-tweet or create content in real-time, demonstrating the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • Good article writing and journalistic skills, including the ability to source information, conduct basic research, and develop well-structured articles is preferred.

Competencies and Attributes:

  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism. Strong knowledge of major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X/Twitter) and how to tailor content for each.
  • Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or mobile video editing apps is essential. Understanding of social media best practices, platform algorithms, and community engagement strategies.
  • Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite,
  • Buffer, Later) and basic knowledge of performance analytics, SEO for social, and digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with paid social advertising and influencer collaborations is a plus.
