About the Role
Crowe Erastus & Co. is recruiting Audit Associates to join their audit team in Kenya. This full-time position involves coordinating and delivering audit engagements from the planning phase through to completion and report finalisation. You will work on assigned audit segments, managing work schedules and quality standards while contributing to the firm’s service delivery across its client portfolio.
The role suits candidates with foundational audit experience who are ready to deepen their technical knowledge and develop project management capability. You will report to senior audit staff and work collaboratively across teams to meet client deadlines and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning activities for assigned segments of audit engagements, including scope definition and resource allocation.
- Execute the audit plan by performing substantive and compliance testing procedures in line with established audit methodology.
- Document audit findings and supporting evidence in working papers, maintaining clear audit trails and proper file organisation.
- Prepare audit reports and summaries that communicate findings, recommendations, and conclusions to management and stakeholders.
- Monitor progress against audit timelines and escalate delays or resource constraints to supervising auditors.
- Support the audit team in quality assurance activities and compliance with professional auditing standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; or equivalent qualification recognised by ICPAK.
- CPA certification at Part II level minimum (Section 4/Intermediate Level passed).
- A minimum of two years of hands-on audit work experience in a recognised audit firm or internal audit department.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
- Ability to absorb new concepts quickly and adapt to different client environments and audit methodologies.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with capacity to present findings clearly to colleagues and clients.
- Team-oriented mindset with good interpersonal skills and professional maturity in client-facing situations.
- Demonstrated integrity, discipline, and focus; candidates must meet Crowe Erastus & Co.’s professional conduct standards.
