Duties
- The incumbent provides a wide range of administrative and program support activities to CDC Kenya’s Office of the Director. Under the supervision of the Administrative Specialist, the incumbent also works as part of the CDC Kenya Office of the Director administrative staff pool in providing the full spectrum of standard and specialized administrative support including arranging travel, ordering office supplies, inventory control, conference/workshop coordination, time and attendance processing, directory maintenance, electronic country clearance (eCC) approval, contact relationship management, visa processing, etc. for both Nairobi and Kisumu field offices.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of work experience in administration and management is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Thorough knowledge of business principles, concepts, and methodology involved in administering document and data management systems and other aspects of an office environment. Knowledge of the local and national culture; practices and rules to be able to interact with external contacts and to understand the working culture of Kenya government offices and partner organizations.
Education Requirements:
- Completion high school is required
- Minimum two years of College or University studies is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
- English: Level 4 – Fluent; speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate
- Kiswahili Level 3 – Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- The incumbent should have standard knowledge of administrative and clerical office procedures and budget formulation.
- Should have standard knowledge of office technologies such as copiers, computers, fax, scanners, etc.
- The incumbent should have the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work independently and as part of a functional team.
- The incumbent must show demonstrated ability to pay attention to details, to engage with subordinates, peers and superiors through timely and accurate communication.
- The incumbent should have the ability to exercise judgement in scheduling appointments and coordination of events.
- Must have strong telephone etiquette and good skills in dealing with persons of all ranks and be able to respond and communicate through phone calls calmly and accurately.
- Good writing skills are required to write clear and concise email and documents.
- Intermediate user level of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams. Proficiency in keyboarding and typing skills that include speed and accuracy. HR office will provide testing of keyboarding and typing skills during recruitment.
