About the Role
Trianum Hotels is recruiting for an Accounts Receivable professional to join its finance team in Kenya. This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, supporting the hospitality group’s billing, collections, and revenue reconciliation functions. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts, tracking outstanding payments, and ensuring accurate financial records across the company’s serviced apartments and boutique hotel operations.
The Accounts Receivable at Trianum Hotels role sits at the intersection of operations and finance. You will coordinate with front office, sales, and operations teams to resolve billing issues, enforce credit policies, and maintain clean receivables aging. Key Responsibilities
- Generate and distribute invoices using property management and point-of-sale systems within agreed timelines.
- Verify that all revenue sources are accurately recorded, posted to the general ledger, and reconciled monthly.
- Track customer balances, identify overdue amounts, and initiate collection follow-up with persistence and professionalism.
- Review and update the debtors aging schedule regularly, flagging high-risk and significantly overdue accounts for management attention.
- Reconcile individual customer accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
- Liaise with Front Office, Sales, and Operations teams to confirm billing accuracy and resolve posting errors.
- Apply credit control policies consistently, including credit limit enforcement and payment term management.
- Support the month-end close process by verifying that all accounts receivable balances are complete and correct.
- Address guest and corporate client inquiries about invoices, payments, and account statements.
- Compile and provide receivables documentation and schedules to internal and external auditors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
- CPA certification at Part II, Finalist level, or above (Kenya CPA requirements).
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or similar finance roles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with hospitality systems, particularly Property Management Systems (PMS) and Point-of-Sale (POS) platforms.
- Working knowledge of accounting software; experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- Strong grasp of revenue reconciliation principles and credit control best practices.
- Analytical capability and meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling numerical data and aging reports.
