The New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union Public Limited Company (NKPCU Plc) was established under the State Corporations Act Cap 446 Laws of Kenya under the Ministry of Cooperatives Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development. It is mandated to Mill, Warehouse, and Market coffee, Optimize the assets of the Company, and administer the Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund.

The Company wishes to recruit results-oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision, and creativity to fill positions in Nairobi and branch offices to ensure the delivery of its mandates.

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT NK.8 – (2) POSTS

Grade: Accounts Assistant Nk.8 – (2) Posts
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary: Kshs. 47,714 (Minimum) – Kshs. 69,326 (maximum)
Other remunerations: Based on prevailing Government guidelines
Reporting to Senior Accountant Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

(i) Providing already achieved vouchers within the department so as prevent loss of documents by ensuring all documents retrieved are returned promptly;
(ii) Preparing payment vouchers, imprests and committal documents in accordance with laid down financial rules and regulations;
(iii) Capturing data, maintenance of primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books, registers and preparation of simple management reports;
(iv) Receives duly processed payments and receipt vouchers for filing in accordance with the ISO standards;
(v) Receiving, recording and sorting documents delivered in the department for processing;
(vi) Balancing and ruling of the cash books on daily basis to ensure accuracy and correctness of financial data;
(vii) Updating the revenue collection register;
(viii) Drafting and updating the cash liquidity analysis;
(ix) Archiving and filling of all finance documents;
(x) Maintaining individual Ledgers for CCARF advances and recoveries;
(xi) Preparing monthly Expenditure returns; and
(xii) Calculating and Valuation of CCARF to be advanced to farmers.

Requirements

(i) Diploma in any of the following disciplines: -Commerce (Accounting Option), Business Administration (Accounting Option), Business Management (Accounting or Finance Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
(ii) Certified Public Accountant II (CPA II) by Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board (KASNEB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
(iii) Proficiency in Computer applications; and
(iv) National Police Clearance Certificate.
(v)An Applicant with a least two (2) years working experience in accounting field will have an added advantage
