Power & Solar Systems Ltd is one of the fast-growing electrical engineering companies based in Nairobi Kenya. We are seeking to recruit a self-starter individual to fill the position of an Accountant. Our goal is to drive electrical engineering success that will satisfy our customers, maximize customer retention and increase our profitability.

Responsibilities

The employee will perform the job duties as set forth below.

• Preparing and maintaining important financial reports.
• Ensuring the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Professional and accurate management of Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Inventory, Bank and Petty cash accounts.
• Prepare, examine, and analyze assets records in the register to review the costs, depreciation, disposal and purchases as well as writing off inventory loses to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Set up and implement internal audit controls aimed at establishing an elaborate financial governance regime.
• Preparing tax returns and ensuring that taxes are paid properly and on time.
• Evaluating financial operations to recommend best-practices, identify issues and strategize solutions, and help organizations run efficiently.
• Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Conducting forecasting and risk analysis assessments.
• Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
• Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts
• Perform any ad-hoc accounting/ finance-related duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications 

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications;

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance and or CPA (K)
• At least 3-5 years of work experience in a busy company.
• Experience in using QuickBooks will be an added advantage.
