CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE AT MORARA HOME FURNITURE.

Morara Home Furniture is currently seeking to fill twenty-two (22) positions for skilled craftsmen or women with excellent abilities in tailoring and carpentry (specifically framing and upholstery).

Carpenters (Framers and Upholsterers) Responsibilities:

  • Crafting, framing, assembling, and finishing various home furniture pieces, particularly couches, ottomans, and tufted beds.

Professional Qualifications & Skills:

  • KNEC Certification from a recognized technical training college.
  • Proficient in interpreting frame drawings and constructing frames using lumber. These frames will then be passed on to upholsterers.
  • Strong ability to pad frames with foam, stretch fabric to fit edges, and accurately staple it into place.
  • Honest, reliable, and quick-thinking.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of work ethic and discipline.

Tailors Responsibilities:

  • Cutting fabrics based on measurements and sewing them with precision using a sewing machine.

Professional Qualifications & Skills:

  • KNEC Certification from a recognized technical training college.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret sofa images and create patterns for cutting and stitching.
  • Accurate sewing of straight lines, selecting appropriate needles, and choosing the correct thread size for each finish.
  • Honest, reliable, and quick-thinking.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of work ethic and discipline.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Starting Net Salary after statutory deductions: Ksh. 18,000 for a three-month probation period, increasing to Ksh. 20,000 monthly for a renewable one-year contract.
  • NYS Graduates and Ex-Prisoners are encouraged to apply, as it will be considered an advantage. In such cases, an NYS Discharge Certificate or Prison Release and NITA certificate will be required.
  • Working Hours: 7 am to 5 pm
  • Working Days: Monday to Saturday (6 days a week), with Sunday as the rest day.
