West Valley Sugar Company is recruiting across five key positions to strengthen operations in the Agriculture (West Region) and Security departments.

1. Weighbridge In-Charge

Reports to: Agriculture Manager
Vacancy: 1

Overview:
Responsible for managing the weighing of inbound/outbound trucks, supervising weighbridge staff, ensuring accurate records, and enforcing safety procedures.

Key Duties:

• Supervise weighbridge staff across shifts.

• Verify truck data accuracy and report unusual occurrences.

• Maintain accurate transaction records.

• Oversee offloading of sugarcane with the cane yard supervisor.

• Ensure preparedness for risks/emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

• Minimum 3 years of experience.

• Strong computer, supervisory, communication, and analytical skills.

2. Security Guards

Reports to: Security Supervisor
Vacancies: 3

Overview:
Maintain safety and security of company premises, property, employees, and visitors.

Key Duties:

• Patrol and monitor property to prevent security breaches.

• Respond to alarms/incidents.

• Control entry/exit of people and vehicles.

• Prepare reports on daily activities/incidents.

• Implement emergency plans as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• KCSE Certificate (or equivalent), NYS graduate preferred.

• Certificate of good conduct.

• Minimum 1 year of similar experience.

• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.

3. Caneyard Attendants

Reports to: Weighbridge In-Charge
Vacancies: 2

Overview:
Ensure cleanliness, order, and smooth traffic flow in the cane yard.

Key Duties:

• Maintain yard cleanliness to minimize cane losses.

• Regulate traffic for safe loading/unloading.

• Ensure cane is secure from damage.

Qualifications & Skills:

• KCSE Certificate and good conduct.

• Physically fit, with 1 year of experience.

• Ability to work in hot, moist, or vibrating environments.

• Locals encouraged to apply.

4. Field Assistants

Reports to: Agriculture Manager
Vacancies: 3

Overview:
Support field operations, data collection, logistics, and communication with farmers.

Key Duties:

• Conduct surveys and collect field data.

• Maintain accurate farmer/field records.

• Support field visits and transportation logistics.

• Ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

• Troubleshoot field challenges and propose solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/Certificate in General Agriculture.

• At least 1 year in fieldwork/logistics/data collection.

• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

• Physical ability to handle demanding field activities.

5. Weighbridge Clerks

Reports to: Weighbridge In-Charge
Vacancies: 2

Overview:
Responsible for recording weighbridge transactions and supporting daily weighbridge operations.

Key Duties:

• Complete and verify weigh slips.

• Ensure deliveries have accurate documentation.

• Capture receipt loads promptly.

• Approve deliveries and enforce HSE standards.

• Control traffic at the weighbridge.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in Procurement or Supplies, KCSE C– and above.

• 1–2 years of weighbridge experience.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word).

• Ability to work in hot environments and stand for long periods.
