Job Description:
Our Client, Nairobi’s premier destination for stylish and high-quality bags that suit every occasion, and personality is seeking to hire a highly skilled and versatile Accountant with exceptional accounting expertise and leadership potential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, reporting, and compliance, coupled with an understanding of FMCG industry dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage daily accounting operations, including ledger management, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to optimize operational efficiency.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making for business growth.
- Ensure timely filing of VAT, compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors during audits.
- Contribute to financial planning and analysis to support business growth and expansion.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs and implement effective financial solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sales, procurement, and logistics functions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FMCG industry trends and their financial implications.
- Oversee inventory management and cost control measures relevant to FMCG products and retail operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in accounting functions.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and strategic thinking to prepare for potential managerial responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA is a MUST.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in accounting, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Strong understanding of FMCG industry operations, supply chain, and financial nuances.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office Suite.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to think strategically and drive initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
