Deputy Director – Broadcast Services Licensing
This is a full-time position at the Kenya School of Government, reporting to the Director of Licensing and Compliance.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Statistics or related field from a recognized institution
- Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering, Economics, Commerce or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Minimum 15 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in a management or comparable position
- Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable
- Minimum 3 years of service in the position of Assistant Director
- Valid practicing license where applicable
- Leadership Course Certificate lasting not less than 4 weeks from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advisory services on multimedia technical standards and broadcasting technology issues
- Support development and review of regulatory frameworks for multimedia services and licensing procedures
- License multimedia services in accordance with approved market structure
- Develop guidelines, policies and review legislation related to multimedia services
- Support strategies for multimedia content development, particularly local content
- Represent the Authority in international broadcasting conferences and meetings
- Review and approve client query responses prepared by staff
- Develop national positions and champion them at international forums and conferences
