About the Role

Microsoft is recruiting for a Solution Area Specialists Manager – AI Business to lead sales strategy and team execution across the Nairobi region. This is a full-time position that combines people leadership, customer strategy, and revenue accountability for Microsoft’s Business Applications and AI cloud solutions portfolio. The role reports to senior leadership and sits at the intersection of sales management, technical solution design, and customer transformation—requiring someone who can balance strategic planning with hands-on deal execution.

The Solution Area Specialists Manager – AI Business at Microsoft will manage a team of Solution Area Specialists and Solution Engineers while driving territory-wide revenue growth. You’ll work across multiple customer accounts, internal teams, and partner ecosystems to position Microsoft’s AI and cloud capabilities as drivers of measurable business outcomes. This role supports flexible work arrangements, including remote work where business needs and local policy permit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in strategic customer engagement with executive stakeholders and decision-makers, focusing on understanding business priorities, shaping transformation roadmaps, and identifying high-value sales opportunities that accelerate revenue.
  • Define and execute the overarching sales strategy for assigned territories, including whitespace analysis, account prioritization, territory planning, and competitive positioning for Business Applications and AI solutions.
  • Uncover market opportunities using AI-driven market intelligence, trend analysis, customer usage data, and propensity analytics to identify emerging customer needs, market gaps, and future demand signals across the region.
  • Direct regional teams in the innovation, positioning, and deployment of AI- and cloud-enabled solutions that help customers modernize operations, strengthen decision-making, and achieve measurable business transformation outcomes.
  • Own sales pipeline discipline by conducting comprehensive pipeline reviews, improving forecast accuracy, supporting complex deal structuring, and using analytics and forecasting tools to consistently exceed sales targets and customer consumption goals.
  • Oversee the development of customer-specific sales strategies aligned to each customer’s security requirements, business application priorities, and customer success plans to strengthen long-term partnerships and accelerate growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Solution Area Specialists and Solution Engineers—managing performance, driving employee growth, executing strategic projects, and fostering a culture of accountability and customer focus.
  • Activate partner ecosystems to drive co-selling arrangements, partner attachment, customer adoption, value realization, and demonstrate Microsoft’s commitment to secure and responsible AI-powered business transformation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or equivalent professional qualification; MBA, MSc, or MA preferred.
  • 9–12 years of enterprise sales, sales management, or solution selling experience, with demonstrated success managing teams and driving revenue growth in cloud, AI, or business applications environments.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic customer engagements at executive level and translate complex customer priorities into qualified sales opportunities.
  • Experience with pipeline discipline, sales forecasting, and deal management across large territories or multiple customer accounts.
  • Knowledge of AI capabilities, cloud solutions (particularly Microsoft platforms), and their application to business transformation and operational modernization.
  • Track record of building and coaching high-performing sales teams, with strong people leadership and talent development capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data, market intelligence, and customer insights to inform strategy and drive decision-making.
