About the Role

Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) is recruiting a Branch Manager – Online Branch to lead operations of its digital learning division in Nairobi. This is a full-time position that combines branch leadership with oversight of online education delivery. The role reports to senior management and requires someone with substantial management experience and a clear understanding of both educational delivery and digital platforms.

KIM is a membership-based, non-profit professional management organization established in 1954. The Institute delivers management consultancy, capacity building, and educational services to corporate and individual clients across Kenya. The Online Branch represents a growing part of KIM’s service portfolio, serving learners who access courses and membership programs through digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Online Branch to ensure service quality aligns with KIM standards, policies, procedures, and organizational processes.
  • Supervise branch staff and online lecturers to maintain effective operations and uninterrupted delivery of online educational services.
  • Direct marketing activities for the Online Branch using digital platforms to increase visibility and uptake of KIM courses and membership offerings.
  • Communicate learner feedback and customer needs to relevant departments across the Institute to improve service delivery.
  • Oversee the Online Branch learning infrastructure, including the learning management system, virtual classrooms, and student portals, to ensure optimal functionality and usage.
  • Produce regular progress reports covering revenue, student enrolment figures, marketing performance, membership acquisition, and branch operations.
  • Represent senior management by communicating organizational decisions, policies, and online learning initiatives to branch staff and stakeholders.
  • Preside over the student welfare committee and oversee student admission, progression, and retention across all KIM online programs.
  • Monitor the examination process at the branch to guarantee timeliness and procedural integrity.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (BA/BSc/HND).
  • Current membership of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
  • A minimum of six years of cumulative work experience, with at least five years in a managerial capacity.
  • Demonstrated people management skills and ability to lead teams across multiple functions.
  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning systems and basic accounting principles.
  • Strong report writing and record-keeping capabilities, with competence in budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Solid computer literacy and familiarity with digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies, marketing, and public relations (ICT qualifications are an advantage).
