Key Responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver German language lessons according to the established course curriculum and unit outlines.

• Develop individualised learning plans for students and monitor their progress against set objectives.
• Mark and grade Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) and end-of-term examinations, uploading results promptly into the university’s management information system.
• Supervise students during formal assessments and practical instruction sessions to ensure integrity and compliance.
• Participate in course review meetings and adjust instructional strategies based on student feedback and performance data.
• Contribute to curriculum development initiatives and attend departmental meetings as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a related field.
• Valid Goethe Institute certification demonstrating B2 level proficiency or above in German language.
• Minimum one year of demonstrated experience teaching German language in a formal educational setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
• Ability to design and deliver culturally appropriate and inclusive language instruction.
• Proficiency in developing assessments and interpreting student performance data.
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple classes, records and departmental responsibilities.
