Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects at the Likoni Road facility to ensure on-time, in-full delivery and achieve 100% annual CAPEX utilization in line with PRINCE2 principles.
  • Oversee administration and provision of site facilities including catering, staff uniforms, vehicle parking, office cleaning, maintenance services, and equipment leasing through effective contract management.
  • Monitor and manage all third-party contractors delivering facilities services on site, holding regular performance review meetings to track adherence to schedules, budgets, EHS standards, and payment terms.
  • Administer the company’s strategic and non-strategic assets, including capitalization of new equipment and disposal of redundant assets in accordance with BAT asset management policy.
  • Manage relationships with engineering suppliers and ensure contracts are in place, reviewed regularly, and compliant with BAT’s Contract Management policy.
  • Support planning and execution of Engineering operational expenditure (Opex) projects and coordinate with internal departments—Manufacturing, Supply Chain, EHS, Leaf, and Commercial—to enable effective project delivery.
  • Develop and control departmental budgets (both Opex and Capex), track expenditure against agreed limits, and report on financial performance and asset utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and BAT requirements including building codes, fire safety, environmental standards, licensing, rates, and rent payments in conjunction with legal and finance teams.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Chemical/Process Engineering.
  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance and familiarity with maintenance management practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management with evidence of delivering capital or operational projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Knowledge of Initiative Management (IM) Methodology, specifically the IM Pillar and Autonomous Maintenance Pillar frameworks.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design or technical applications relevant to facility and project management.
  • Established experience in contract management, including vendor negotiation, SLA development, and supplier performance tracking.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and chair cross-functional projects and committees.
  • Capacity to make sound decisions under pressure, communicate clearly across departments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What to Expect

  • A structured, safety-first working environment with mandatory compliance to EHS standards, zero-accident targets, and regular toolbox meetings with contractors and teams.
  • Responsibility for managing significant budgets and delivering visible infrastructure outcomes—new equipment installations, facility upgrades, and operational improvements that directly support manufacturing capability.
  • Collaboration with senior manufacturing leadership, cross-functional departments, and external contractors in a matrix environment where communication and follow-through are essential.
