About the Role
Kenchic Limited is recruiting a Water & Effluent Treatment Technician to join its operations in Nairobi. This is a full-time position in the Engineering sector, based at the company’s headquarters. As East and Central Africa’s largest integrated poultry producer, Kenchic operates extensive processing facilities that require skilled technical personnel to manage water quality and waste treatment systems.
The Water & Effluent Treatment Technician at Kenchic Limited will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of treatment systems that ensure regulatory compliance and protect environmental standards. You will work with sampling equipment, maintain operational records, and coordinate with management on system performance and any equipment issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate water and effluent treatment systems according to established procedures and quality benchmarks
- Monitor treatment processes continuously and record performance data in operational logs
- Conduct regular sampling and testing of water, effluent, and sludge to verify treatment effectiveness
- Inspect treatment equipment on a scheduled basis and report any faults or maintenance needs to supervisors
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on treatment apparatus to ensure optimal function
- Ensure all treatment operations remain compliant with NEMA regulations and company safety protocols
- Maintain detailed records of treatment cycles, chemical usage, test results, and maintenance activities
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Water Engineering or a closely related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Sound knowledge of water treatment processes, effluent management, and relevant environmental standards
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications for record-keeping and reporting
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot water and effluent treatment equipment
- Familiarity with NEMA environmental regulations and workplace safety requirements
