About the Role

United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is recruiting an ICT Senior Analyst to join its Nairobi office on a full-time basis. This position sits within the mission support management function and focuses on building and maintaining data-driven reporting systems that deliver intelligence to senior leadership and operational teams. The ICT Senior Analyst at United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) will design, implement, and oversee analytics platforms and business intelligence dashboards that transform organisational data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy data collection frameworks and reporting solutions that serve mission senior management and support unit leadership with timely, accurate intelligence.

  • Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into analytical environments, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Design and maintain Excel-based and Power BI dashboards that communicate key performance metrics and organisational trends to non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with mission section chiefs and department heads to identify reporting needs and translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of analytics platforms and ensure systems continue to meet evolving organisational needs.
  • Document technical processes, data architectures, and user workflows to support knowledge transfer and system sustainability.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Electronics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant ICT or information systems experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in one of these fields with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience working with data visualisation and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau, including the design and delivery of data reports and quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modelling, and report publishing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data preparation techniques.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and dashboard design.
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, or SAP are advantageous. Experience with Power Apps is desirable.
  • Prior experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or working in supply chain or related operational areas is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialist stakeholders.
