The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations and day-to-day finance operations in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including data entry and record keeping.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of financial records, invoices, and receipts.
  • Assist in basic financial reporting and the preparation of schedules and summaries.
  • Help with bank, cash or account reviews to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice tracking and follow-ups.
  • Assist with filing and organization of financial documents, both digital and physical.
  • Support compliance with internal procedures and basic regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on assigned tasks and ongoing accounting activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting and finance team as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) will be an added advantage.
  • Awareness of Kenyan tax regulations, including KRA compliance, VAT, PAYE and statutory filings, is a plus.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when handling financial records.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
  • Professionalism, integrity and a strong sense of confidentiality.
