About the Role

Orchid HR Outsourcing is recruiting a Telesales Representative to build and expand the customer base through direct phone outbound sales. This is a full-time position based in Kenya within the call center sector, focused on selling products to contractors, hardware retailers, developers, and distributors across the construction and building materials space. The successful candidate will manage the entire sales cycle—from prospecting through closing—while supporting the broader sales team in meeting revenue objectives.

The Telesales Representative at Orchid HR Outsourcing will work directly with customers to understand their requirements, present relevant solutions, and convert inquiries into confirmed orders. You will maintain active CRM records, coordinate with internal teams on fulfillment, and track progress against targets on a daily and weekly basis. This role demands telephone communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to handle client objections professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute outbound telephone campaigns to reach contractors, hardware shops, developers, and distribution partners.
• Present company products and services to prospective customers, matching offerings to their stated needs.
• Identify customer requirements and recommend products or services that address those needs effectively.
• Source and cultivate new sales leads, converting initial inquiries into confirmed sales transactions.
• Handle customer concerns and objections with professionalism, ensuring a satisfactory experience and relationship continuity.
• Track quotations, orders, and payment status through to completion, following up to ensure timely closure.
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients, spotting opportunities to sell additional products or services.
• Communicate accurate product details including pricing, stock availability, and expected delivery schedules to customers.
• Work with logistics and production departments to confirm orders are fulfilled on time and to specification.
• Record all customer interactions and feedback in the CRM system and produce daily or weekly sales reports.
• Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and market conditions to stay informed and competitive.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience in telesales, telephone sales, or field sales roles.
• Prior experience in building materials, construction, or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry and customer base is an advantage.
• Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and ability to close sales over the telephone.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications and experience using CRM software platforms.
