Description

  • Serving as the focal person for the GIZ project for intellectual agenda setting, overall strategic direction of the assignment
  • Supervision of the experts and quality assurance
  • Personnel management, specifying the need for short-term assignments within the available budget, as well as planning and steering assignments and supporting the experts
  • Ensuring results monitoring and regular reporting is conducted in accordance with deadlines and in alignment with the logframe indicators in relationship to the results
  • Providing general expert advisory services on women’s and girls’ rights, access to resources and representation in decision-making processes

Qualifications required

  • Education/training: PhD or its equivalent in Political Science, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Gender Studies, International Law or other related field
  • Language: 1Knowledge of English, C1-level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Knowledge of an additional AU working language: French or Arabic or Portuguese, C1-level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Professional experience required

  • 7 years of professional experience in working on projects on gender equality, women rights and/or women’s empowerment
  • 5 years of professional experience in support of an intergovernmental body or agency
  • 10 years of professional experience in Africa
  • 10 years of experience in development cooperation projects
