Responsibilities
- Lead a distributed team of engineers working remotely.
- Foster talent development by providing coaching, mentoring, feedback, and active involvement in career growth.
- Establish and oversee expectations with various engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Promote and drive the adoption of contemporary software development practices.
- Participate hands-on in the engineering process, including code and architectural reviews.
- Collaborate with Canonical teams, the open-source community, and partners.
- Operate remotely from home, with occasional global travel of 4 to 6 weeks per year for internal and external events.
Qualifications
- You possess a deep understanding of modern Linux cloud computing technologies, encompassing networking, storage, containers, and Kubernetes (K8s).
- You have a passion for nurturing and developing individuals, backed by a proven track record in people management.
- Your focus revolves around achieving success and ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality software.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Your communication skills shine in both written and verbal technical contexts.
- You boast experience in programming with C and/or Go languages.
