Responsibilities

  • Lead a distributed team of engineers working remotely.
  • Foster talent development by providing coaching, mentoring, feedback, and active involvement in career growth.
  • Establish and oversee expectations with various engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Promote and drive the adoption of contemporary software development practices.
  • Participate hands-on in the engineering process, including code and architectural reviews.
  • Collaborate with Canonical teams, the open-source community, and partners.
  • Operate remotely from home, with occasional global travel of 4 to 6 weeks per year for internal and external events.

Qualifications

  • You possess a deep understanding of modern Linux cloud computing technologies, encompassing networking, storage, containers, and Kubernetes (K8s).
  • You have a passion for nurturing and developing individuals, backed by a proven track record in people management.
  • Your focus revolves around achieving success and ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality software.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
  • Your communication skills shine in both written and verbal technical contexts.
  • You boast experience in programming with C and/or Go languages.
