Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. and its partners work with vulnerable communities to achieve sustainable food and nutrition security. Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. Kenya is currently seeking to recruit qualified and motivated personnel as listed below contingent upon the final approval of funding. The duty station will be either Lokitaung or Lodwar.

To qualify as a Public Health Field Officer, the candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field, along with practical experience in public health, community health, or related roles.
  • At least two years of work experience in public health, community health, or related roles is highly desirable and recommended.
  • Strong knowledge of public health principles, epidemiology, health education, and community engagement is crucial.
  • Ability to analyze health data, evaluate program effectiveness, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are needed to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders, building trust and fostering participation.
  • Knowledge of the local context, including cultural norms and language, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with the Kenyan government and non-governmental organizations.
  • Skills in integrating gender and disability inclusion and safeguarding in all project activities.
  • Strong capacity to conduct participatory community training and deliver technical sessions in simple and locally understood formats.
  • Skilled in preparing high quality reports, case studies and success stories for donor and internal use.
  • Ability to work within activity budgets and provide inputs for financial forecasts.
