Kenya National Examinations Council

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:

  • Indexing and abstracting books, journals, and other library resource materials.
  • Operating Current Awareness Service (CAS).
  • Conducting information searches from electronic databases.
  • Editing reports, newsletters, and other publications.
  • Selecting and acquiring information in consultation with researchers and other professionals.
  • Managing information materials such as books, periodicals, video cassettes, audiotapes, computer databases and CD-ROMs, micro-filmed materials, and other relevant documents.
  • Assisting in networking of information services, libraries, and information centers.
  • Developing and managing communities of practice for staff and stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining the Council’s repository.
  • Developing and maintaining the Council’s knowledge management system.

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Studies, Information Science, or other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  • Demonstrated merit in work performance.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution for successful applicants.
