Requirements
For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:

  •  Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from a recognized University
  •  Postgraduate Diploma in Law
  •  Be an Advocate of the High Court with at least two (2) years post-admission and a current practicing certificate.
  •  Membership to Law Society of Kenya
  •  Proficiency in Computer applications

 Experience:

Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of at least two (2) years post-admission experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzing pleadings and appreciating their tenor and effect;
  • Examining the detailed content of the facts and decisions of the Courts;
  • Taking stock of the full tenor and effect of the submissions made in the Courts;
  • Collecting and collating all relevant authorities those emanating from counsel and, any other relevant material;
  • Conducting extensive legal research and writing for the respective Judges and Judicial officers;
  • Drafting bench memoranda and well-researched opinions on various legal and factual issues; and
  • Preparing pretrial and post-trial media summaries.
