Requirements
For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:
- Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from a recognized University
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law
- Be an Advocate of the High Court with at least two (2) years post-admission and a current practicing certificate.
- Membership to Law Society of Kenya
- Proficiency in Computer applications
Experience:
Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya of at least two (2) years post-admission experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzing pleadings and appreciating their tenor and effect;
- Examining the detailed content of the facts and decisions of the Courts;
- Taking stock of the full tenor and effect of the submissions made in the Courts;
- Collecting and collating all relevant authorities those emanating from counsel and, any other relevant material;
- Conducting extensive legal research and writing for the respective Judges and Judicial officers;
- Drafting bench memoranda and well-researched opinions on various legal and factual issues; and
- Preparing pretrial and post-trial media summaries.
