Your day will revolve around managing NVidia graphics drivers, ensuring their smooth operation, and keeping up with new releases. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Take personal ownership of delivering high-quality graphics drivers.
  • Skillfully patch the kernel driver to ensure compatibility with the latest Ubuntu kernel.
  • Continually enhance and maintain Ubuntu’s contributions to the NVidia settings panel.
  • Keep Ubuntu’s hardware detection and driver installation tools in top shape.
  • Dedicate time to diagnosing and resolving issues reported by customers and the community.
  • Collaborate actively with a globally dispersed team to achieve common goals.
  • Forge close partnerships with external teams from silicon, cloud, or hardware manufacturers, especially on cutting-edge platforms.

Desired Qualities and Skills

Here’s what we’re seeking in you:

  • Exceptional organization skills, self-motivation, and the ability to meet fixed deadlines.
  • Demonstrated professionalism when engaging with colleagues, business partners, and the open source community.
  • Proficient in English, both in written and spoken communication.
  • Programming expertise in C, complemented by Python and Bash scripting skills.
  • A strong foundation in using git for version control.
  • Knowledge of the Linux kernel and its subsystems would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in kernel patching and debugging would be highly valued.
  • Previous exposure to Ubuntu, Debian, or Snap packaging would also be a significant asset.
