Project Description:

The Activity aims to support USAID and the Ministry of Education (MOE) in delivering large-scale interventions while piloting and expanding innovative solutions for language and literacy needs among primary-grade learners. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen education institutions and systems, making them more inclusive, accountable, and resilient. The Kenya Primary Literacy Program builds upon the achievements of the 2019 Tusome EGR online evaluation.

Grants and Partnership Manager Position Description:

As the Grants and Partnership Manager, you will report to the COP (Chief of Party) and oversee the Youth Grants and Partnership Fund. Collaborating closely with the DCOP (Deputy Chief of Party) and the Finance and Administration Manager, you will manage the Youth Grants. Moreover, you will work with the COP to secure private-sector support for relevant activities under the KPLP.

The candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:

Qualifications: Education:

A Master’s-level degree in a related field.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in project management, preferably related to primary grade reading.
  • Prior experience in grants management, with a preference for experience in Kenya or East Africa.
  • Desirable experience in building the capacity of local organizations to implement and manage development projects.
  • Proven ability to identify high-potential business ideas, collaborate with youth and/or institutional and private partners, and implement activities leveraging private investments for development goals.

Language:

Professionally proficient and fluent in both written and spoken English.
