Job Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. As a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and a holder of CPAK, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Financial Management:

  • Develop financial strategies and manage budgets, forecasts, and plans.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend improvements.
  • Oversee cash flow, treasury functions, and regulatory compliance.

·  Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and develop a finance team, fostering accountability and teamwork.
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and address issues promptly.

·  Strategic Planning and Analysis:

  • Provide financial guidance for decision-making and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Track performance with KPIs and lead accurate budgeting and forecasting.

·  Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure tax regulation compliance and coordinate with advisors to optimize planning.
  • Oversee accurate and timely tax return preparation.

·  Working Capital Management:

  • Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory.
  • Monitor cash flow and improve cash conversion cycle efficiency.

·  Supplier and Bank Relationships:

  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms to optimize procurement.
  • Handle banking relationships, credit facilities, and cash management.

·  Risk Management:

  • Assess and mitigate financial risks with strategies and internal controls.
  • Develop risk management policies to protect assets and ensure continuity.

·  Internal Controls:

  • Maintain strong internal controls and conduct audits to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Implement improvements based on audit findings.

·  Audit:

  • Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and providing documentation.
  • Implement audit recommendations and monitor corrective actions.

·  Additional Duties:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Finance or an MBA is a plus.
  • Professional Certification: CPAK certification is mandatory. Membership in ICPAK is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax laws, and financial regulations. Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
