Day Matron – Prep School at St Andrew’s School

Position: Day Matron – Boarding House

Reporting Structure: The Day Matron reports to the House Parent of the respective Boarding House. Their role involves taking care of pupils, focusing on their health and well-being, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of domestic aspects of school life.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive care to pupils residing in the designated boarding house.
• Maintain the boarding house in impeccable condition.
• Take responsibility for the health, clothing, and overall well-being of the pupils.
• Supervise cleanliness and organization within the dormitory.
• Collaborate with Medical Centre Staff to effectively communicate medical and pastoral concerns raised in the Medical Centre regarding students from their house.
• Supervise the Dhobi system for the boarding house, ensuring regular clothing washing for students and efficient system functioning.
• Conduct inventory assessments of fixtures and fittings, and promptly report repair and replacement needs.

Qualifications:

• Possess a High School Education Certificate or its equivalent.
• Have a minimum of one year of experience as a Matron in a boarding school.
• Command of the English Language, both spoken and written.
• Basic IT skills.
• Holding a Certificate in Nursing or Counselling would be a valuable advantage.
