About the Role

Fargo Courier is recruiting a Cash Centre Manager for its Nairobi operations. This is a full-time position within the finance and accounting sector, responsible for overseeing all cash handling, reconciliation, and operational compliance at the cash centre. The role reports to senior management and requires someone with proven experience managing cash operations at scale and leading teams in a regulated, high-security environment.

With over 100 locations across Kenya, Fargo Courier handles significant volumes of cash movement daily. The Cash Centre Manager at Fargo Courier will be central to ensuring that all consignments are processed accurately, securely, and in line with both internal controls and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on leadership position where attention to detail and risk management are non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

• Process all incoming consignments within agreed service-level agreements and maintain accurate records throughout the workflow.
• Develop and implement operational controls and reconciliation procedures to minimise errors and discrepancies in cash handling.
• Conduct mandatory three-way vault balance verification every 24 hours and maintain a current, accurate vault ledger.
• Ensure vault security by managing Kaba locks and alarm systems, and keeping vaults secured when not in use.
• Verify cash weight accuracy and ATM cassette packing compliance against insurance limits; supervise cash officers’ performance in these areas.
• Reconcile all consignments against collection receipts, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of cash to bank branches, the Central Bank of Kenya, and ATM networks.
• Conduct weekly audits of cash centre assets, identify issues, and report findings to management.
• Manage ATM cassette maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as required.
• Develop risk mitigation processes and drive compliance across all cash operations.
• Supervise and assess the performance of cash officers, providing feedback and guidance on procedure adherence.
• Deliver customer service excellence and represent Fargo Courier professionally in all cash centre interactions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent HND qualification).
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in cash-in-transit and cash centre operations.
• Minimum 5 years of people management experience in an operational environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills for reporting and record-keeping.
• Strong report writing skills and the ability to document procedures and incidents clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
• Proven capability to analyse work-related problems and make sound decisions within the scope of responsibility.
• Keen eye for detail; ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in cash handling and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build teamwork among cash centre staff.
